LISTENING TO EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE.It's a journey that one covers as the life passes by.But saying that it's a mere journey is just plain out ridiculous.There's a lot more to it.

As far as I know about experience,it teaches you a lot.Experience brings one of the most important elements of life which affects your character development the most.WISDOM.The more experienced you are,the wiser you become.

But why are we talking about this?What's the point?

Because acquiring wisdom in teenage years is somewhat difficult.Because let's face it.How many of you actually do something that's considered wise.We're teenagers.We are discovering our identity in this age.We're bound to do something stupid in this age.It's the age where hormones are at peak and stupidity at its zenith.

But nevertheless becoming wise in this age is not impossible and the most important step in doing so is listening to people who've been in your shoes.People who are experienced.Who have seen what happens to humans in this age.

They're not really hard to find.They are literally everywhere.They could be your seniors in your school,your relatives,your teachers and most importantly your parents.They know what to do in this age.

They all have done things from which you can learn.Learn from their glories and also from their mistakes.

In the age that we are going through life seems scary.At least to me it did.But once I listened to to my parents who've been with me through tough times,I've gained a lot of perspective.What your elders can teach you about life,about its most fundamental basis is what decides how you will lead your life.

And I'm not limiting the reach of experience to life lessons.All of you must aspire to be something in your life.

You all have dreams.Connect with people who have became what you want to become.There's always something you can learn from your seniors in that field.

How one shapes his or her career is largely affected by whom he or she consults.

Arnold Schwarzenegger once said on an interview about his time in the gym during his bodybuilding era.

How he not only learned about bodybuilding only from his seniors but also the important things that they taught him about life and how to lead it.He claimed that it was their ethics that they laid out for him which guided him to become the person we know him as today.

Same is the case with every great personality.They've all learned with experience.They listened,They applied and they achieved.It's a simple technique.

You listen,you apply and you achieve.Remember this statement.

Plato once said that the world is a dark place.It's getting smaller and smaller as the time is passing by and if in these trying times you find someone who genuinely cares about what you do and has seen what you're currently seeing,Learn from them.Talk to them.Because someday you would be shredding same knowledge on your younger ones and in that time it would be your wisdom that will guide them which once guided you.

So,in the end.Listen to your elders,Learn from them.They are wise and right for a reason.This is the reason why they deserve respect and kindness.It's just you who has to make an effort.
